Hotello of the year 2017 is a Stenden University Alumna
Last year Leeuwarden alumna Maartje Nelissen won the award, we are truly proud to see yet another alumna claiming the title. The hotello of the year award is an election for alumni of Hotel Management Schools that have left their mark on the industry and as a result of this have been recognised and acknowledged to possess characteristics such as being hospitable, energetic, skilled, inventive, practical, ambitious and last but not list having great worth ethic, These are some of the traits it takes to make a great hotello. At Stenden University these core values are embedded into the students to ensure a successful career and winning the Hotello of the year for two consecutive years is nothing short of reassurance of the quality education offered here at Stenden campus sites world wide. This year alone had over 60 Hotello nominations, which were thereafter reduced to the top 10. The dury thereafter chose 4 finalists with Linda Giebing being one of the top contestants. The finalists were given the opportunity to present on the stage in front of the audience that were present at this event and represented an array of successful people in the Hospitality Industry who thereafter voted to select the hotello of the year for the year 2017. These votes combined by those of the jury members as well as the online votes from the general public led to the final decision of the winner, who in the end was our very own Linda Giebing . Linda Giebing won the prestigious award thanks to the tremendous work she has done at the Hilton, she is currently the youngest female General Manager in Asia and as a result of this Hilton is committed to the development of women in management positions. This giving a pedal stool to all the aspiring hoteliers to come.
