Hospitality Resources

In this module the 1st year students of the International Hospitality Management programme under go an Industrial Orientation which allows the students to work at total of 40 hours in a service provider in the Hospitality Sector. This gives the students an insight int what resources (human and financial) are essential and play a big role in the success of the industry as a whole. This later becomes the foundation of the students understating of  the Industry functions. Universitas Triatma Mulya Stenden here strives to educate the students and mold them in to the great hotelier and hospitality Industry leaders that they have sort out to be. Having this study in Bali, exposes the students to the various kinds establishments that make up the Industry, from Spa and Wellness firms, Hotels, Restaurants, Cruise lines, Travel agents and many other service providers that contribute a lot to the Tourism here in the island of the Gods. This module strives to give the students the know how they will need for the years to come and gives them the ability to understand how the industry functions.

The module itself is sub grouped into learning units which aid in giving the students an in depth understanding of the subject at hand. This module comprises of but not limited to learning units such as;

3.1        Integrated Applied Resources

This entails the introduction and explanation of Human Resources in the  hospitality industry, reflecting business realities in a global setting and relating these to the students’ own practical experience in the industry. To facilitate understanding elements of inter-cultural management, law and sustainability are integrated.

 3.2       Financial Accounting 

Introduction and explanation of the importance of finance in hospitality and the rationale behind why it is essential to gain the technical expertise in order to generate basic financial statements and understand the book-keeping cycle.

3.3        Business English 

The language of commerce English business terminology is an important skill-set that the students must acquire. As such, this unit concentrates on business English whilst also improving the students’ academic writing skills.

This module is assessed by means of (PBL) Problem based Learning system which is used in the global network of Stenden, research and written assignments, and short answer tests in which all the various components of the module are featured on an interdisciplinary basis.  As the second module of the 1st Semester is upon us, Universitas Triatma Mulya Stenden academic team has a number of exciting field trips to several successful businesses in the based in Bali; guest lectures with experience in this field particularly, real life case studies and so much more.
