Hospitality Operations with Albert Kooy

Hospitality Operations with Albert Kooy

Watch the video below and get a glimpse of how the week with the MasterChef himself, Albert Kooy, turned out to be very eventful for the International Hospitality Management year 1 students as they became acquainted to the operations of the hospitality industry as a whole. The Hospitality Operations Module so far has broadened the students perspective on the industry and has given then some theoretical knowledge particularly regarding Gastronomy, Nutrition, Hygiene and Safety standards in the industry Food and Beverage, Rooms Division among many other subjects that contributed to the students understanding of the general operational aspects in the Industry. The students also managed to develop some competences that will be useful during their real world learning module where they will do a full 10 week practical training,  interchanging departments and gaining work experience in an actual hotel.

Many of the theory and knowledge grasped in this module will aid in preparation of the final module assignments which involves food and wine pairing components backed up with relevant theory as well as textures and flavours that of course complement each other to make the perfect dining experience. A big vote of thanks from Universitas Triatma Mulya Stenden to all those that made this week possible as well as to Albert Kooy for flying all the way from the mother campus in The Netherlands and providing an engaging and fun learning experience for the IHM Year 1 students. Alongside with his knowledge and expertise, the students admired his motivation and teaching style which reflected in the positive participation and attendance during lectures, workshops over the course of the week 3.3.
