From Bali to Leeuwarden
I am Audrey and I’m an International Hospitality Management student of Triatma Mulya Stenden Bali. I am currently studying in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands for my third year as Triatma Mulya Stenden Bali is a double bachelor degree programme, so at the end of my study I will get a Sarjana Ekonomi from the Indonesian government and Bachelor of Arts from the Dutch government.
I am here to take minor programme which students can choose, from Marketing, Event Management, Wildlife, and so on. But I am taking Gastronomy and Change & Innovation, because I am interested in those two subjects.
During my study in Triatma Mulya Stenden Bali, I have spent the first two year in Bali and now I’m in my third year in Leeuwarden, then in September 2019 I will start my internship program in Stenden Hotel. I am really looking forward to have this experience for my fourth year. This is exactly what I like about studying in Triatma Mulya Stenden Bali, the experience is just priceless. It’s very international, even since the first and second year in Bali, as the students and lecturers coming from all over the world. It really helped to prepare me, so when I got to Leeuwarden I did not feel out of place.
It is so much fun here in Leeuwarden, everything is very orderly and people are respectful. The fact that I can do sport here because I’m riding bicycle everywhere is also great, because it’s good way to keep my scale in control…but not really, as they have good food here, frikandel, kroket, and I only ride my bike for 5 minutes…hahaha….
And Bali, studying for two years in Bali was an amazing experience. I mean, Bali is a beautiful place and everyone wants to be there. And the Balinese are just so friendly and kind, even when they didn’t know me, so I felt like home there as they’re just so nice to everyone. I really miss Bali, and that ketoprak vendor in front of Triatma Mulya Stenden Bali campus. It tasted so good, I miss Bali so much, but on the other hand I am also having so much fun here.
So, yeah, I am just trying to make the best of my situation, which is great because I feel everything is leading to a path to build my future career.
